The Obstacles are the Path

Today marks exactly one month since I began my new weight loss journey, and I have already hit the dreaded speed bump known as the "plateau."

I used to always get frustrated and would feel like quitting when I 've reached this point in the past. You step on the scale hoping to see a loss, any loss, but instead, you see nothing. You might even see a gain!

Well, last night, I came across a MyFitnessPal article explaining the reason our progress is halted, and it gave me a new perspective. It made me realize that everything worth having takes time, and now is the time to look back and give myself a pat on the back for everything I've accomplished in just one month (25 lbs. down)!

So, even though you don't see the number on the scale going down, remember that you have made progress. Remember that everything you're doing is worth it, and this is just another bump in the road.

If that bump knocks you out and you really do feel like quitting, keep in mind that everything you're doing is right, and those signs of progress are right around the corner! You got this!
