In one month and four days, I will be 28. By 28-years-old, I thought I would be married with two children, have two nice cars, and be living in the house I bought with my husband a couple of years ago. I also thought I'd look good in a bikini and have a corner office. But, I never thought that at 28, I'd be writing this post on my weight loss blog after losing almost 100 pounds. It's funny how life just does its own thing.
Today, one of my friends texted the saying “Life
happens when you're making plans,” and believe me, it is so true.
You can make as many plans as you want, but life never goes according to plan. You can dream about the future and
worry about the past, but eventually, you will realize you have other problems and blessings that you would have never imagined
would have made an appearance in your life, and you had absolutely no
control over any of them. You do however, have a huge amount of
control over how physically fit you can become...and stay.
One of the best things about doing this
blog is having people reach out to me from all over the world. This
morning, a journalist in the UK interviewed me about my site via
E-mail. One of the questions she asked was why I decided to blog
about and go public with my journey. I'm just trying to figure out life with the rest of you guys. I enjoy documenting this part of my life so that when I do
get caught up dreaming about the future or regretting things in the
past, I can look back and take a minute to slow down. If I can
provide a little entertainment to others along the way and let people
know that there are so many other people in the world sharing parts
of the same journey, then that's pretty cool. Creating change is an
amazing thing, and it can totally be fun along the way. Keeping a
record of where you were, really keeps you accountable when it comes
to where you want to be.
